“It’s been a year since Kayla Sutton walked away from Gage Channing, the man who blackmailed her into sexual slavery. Now he’s back, and so is Ian Kaplan, Kayla’s one-time lover from her college days. Both men want her, but only one holds the power to make her submit—to her own dark desires and to the truth she still denies, even to herself. But Gage’s jealousy is his worst enemy, and when he thinks Kayla has chosen Ian, he sets in motion a drastic plan to claim what’s his. Only Kayla never expects him to infiltrate her heart so effortlessly; and she never dreamed there would come a day when he wouldn’t want her—when the mere sight of her turns him away in disgust. He believes she’s committed the ultimate sin, but will she use his mistake to finally escape the cage of his obsession? Or will she do whatever it takes to make him see he can entrust his heart to her . . . just as she’s already lost the core of her being to him?”

Meet the Author

Gemma James (a pseudonym for Christina Jean Michaels) loves to explore the darker side of sex in her fiction. She’s morbidly curious about anything dark and edgy and enjoys exploring the deviant side of human nature. Her stories have been described as being “not for the faint of heart.” She lives with her husband and their four children–three rambunctious UFC/wrestling-loving boys and one girl who steals everyone’s attention.

Excerpt

My breath grew shallow, from arousal, from fear. Gage was good at that—eliciting strong emotions that contrasted so sharply, they knocked a person on their ass in total confusion. I shouldn’t want him. I should scream at him to get the hell out of my house and never come back. I should get a freaking restraining order. As if the turmoil inside me didn’t exist, I set our omelets on the table and calmly took a seat across from him. “What did you mean by boundaries?” I stabbed a bite and shoved it in my mouth. Raising my eyes to his turned out to be a mistake. His hypnotic stare paralyzed me; I couldn’t look away if my life depended on it. I fell into the ocean of his gaze and almost missed the satisfied quirk of his lips. Almost. “You know by now that a relationship with me won’t be your standard variety. You’ll have rules that govern your behavior.” “My behavior?” “Yes. I expect you to obey me.” He set his fork down and winced. “But last year I was cruel to you and that’s not how I normally treat a woman. Not even when they beg me to hurt them beyond what I’m comfortable with.” “Then why?” I choked out. Everything he’d done hit me square in the chest, and his admission that he’d been exceptionally cruel hurt more than it should. “I wanted to destroy what was his.” He lowered his head with a frown. At least he had the grace to look ashamed. “Congratulations.” I let my fork drop, satisfied with the clatter it made. “You succeeded.” “No, I didn’t. Your strength is both my frustration and my undoing. There’s nothing more irritating or sexier on a woman.” He took a bite, and his gaze veered up to mine. “And to clarify on what I mean by boundaries, we’ll set limits this time. You’ll have a safe word.” “You’re talking as if we’re going to be together.” “I’m not leaving here without you, Kayla.”

My Review:

4.0 Star Review – Hard To Love You

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Megan.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first:

Trying Not To Love You
Easy To Love You

I just have to say at times I really want to smack the crap out of Mason.  There are also times you want to hug him and never let him go.  Perfect character to love and hate at the same time.

This book picks up at the end of the last one.  They are in a bar celebrating the engagement of Kenzie and Hunter.  Hailey is pissed when she caught Mason making out with Lily.  (Don’t worry she gets a smack down). Hailey runs off before Mason can explain.  But when he does explain he still keeps things from Hailey.  This family sure does love the secrets.

Parts of this story will break your heart and you will need the tissues.  Makes you want to shake Mason and Hailey both.

The book goes though the younger years for these two also.  You get to know them both better.

Can’t want for the next story from Megan

Excerpt:

“What did that pillow and blanket ever do to you?” Jaylinn asks.

I whip around, she startled me. “Nothing.” I grumble and lay down the couch, covering my eyes in the crook of my elbow.

I hear Jaylinn walking around my living room but I’m not exactly sure where she is. “I heard about what happened.”

I growl. I don’t feel like talking about this shit.

“Masey,” Jaylinn rests her hand on my upper arm and pulls it away from my face. “I know how much you love her. I’m sorry that you’re hurting but I think this is best for the both of you.” I open my eyes and look over at her. “You both lost your way somehow, Masey.”

My hands ball into fists. I feel like beating the shit out of something but I know it’s only going to help for a few minutes and I think I learned my lesson when I punched my door.

“You know that saying? ‘If you love something, set it free. If it comes back it’s yours. If it doesn’t, it never was’?” Jaylinn asks as she stands.

“Yeah, but what does that have to do with me and Hailey? We’re over, Jay.” I say as my voice cracks.

“Oh Masey, it has everything to do with you.” Jaylinn kisses my cheek and then goes to seek out Cooper.

So who’s Sydney Jamesson? Seldom does a writer appear out of the mist, fully formed and equipped to introduce the world to their ‘perfect’ prose. More often than not it has taken years and, in the case of Sydney Jamesson, decades to come to the point where she can say: “I’m ready. This is it, I’m done!” Now is that time. She has always scribbled things down; in her home is one enormous waste paper basket full of discarded phrases, opening lines and pieces of dialogue that have hit her like lightening in the middle of the night or whilst parked up at a set of traffic lights. She has worked in Insurance, Fashion and in advertising as a Copywriter and Commercial Journalist and loved every minute of it. For the past 15 years she has been an English Teacher. But, for as long as she can remember, she has lived with The Story of Us in her head. The fact Elizabeth Parker is an English teacher should come as no surprise: novelists write, initially, about what they know … Yet, she confesses, Elizabeth is not her but rather that young, sensitive and naïve woman we all were or still are. So that’s her, furiously typing away until the early hours, creating an epic tale that covers an 18 month period; taking three novels to unveil the intricacies of a 21st century fairy tale.

Meet The Author

An avid reader since her childhood years and being an only child, Roberta always enjoyed the company of her fictional friends from the children’s books she loved reading, while she dreamed of writing her own stories one day. It was when she discovered novels by authors Rosamunde Pilcher and Maeve Binchy in her teenage years that she realized it was time she put down in words the stories she had kept well hidden in her mind until then. What started as a hobby, soon turned into a real passion and a way of life, until she could no longer keep the stories to herself, and decided to get over her fears and share them with the world. Roberta lives in Italy, but her dream is to move out of her country and live either in a thatched cottage in the Irish countryside or in a country house with a swing on the back porch, somewhere in the United States, where she would love to spend her days writing novels as a full-time job, and maybe one day even get as far as writing a screenplay for a movie.

Ryan had just picked up his coat when his phone started ringing. He smiled when he saw ‘Val’ flash on the display. “Hey, you’re awake! I thought I’d have to break down your door to wake you up.” Valerie giggled, although it didn’t sound as happy as it normally did. Maybe it was just because she’d slept all day and after her double shift and was still a little groggy. “I got a phone call from the hospital. I have to work tonight.” she said in a sad tone. Ryan snorted. “The doctor on duty had an emergency at home and called to say he wouldn’t be able to go to work. I was on call, so they asked me to fill in for him. I’m sorry, Ryan.” “Couldn’t you say you had a prior engagement or something? Call in sick, maybe?” “Ryan, you know I can’t do that. I told you I’d be on call tonight.” “But I haven’t seen you in over two months and I was really looking forward to telling you everything about the tour.” “I know; I really wanted to spend some time with you too.” Ryan let out a sigh and slumped down on his bed. Why couldn’t she have a normal nine-to-five office job that wouldn’t interfere with their dinner plans? “Right, okay. I’ll cancel the reservation at the restaurant and have a microwave dinner all by myself.” Ryan said in a huff. Valerie chuckled. “I hope you feel guilty for ditching me like this, Doc.” “I do. I feel awful but I’ll make it up to you, buddy.” They said goodbye and after he hung up, he let out an annoyed sigh. He opened the freezer and took out microwave cheese macaroni, stared at the plastic box and put it back in; eating on his couch by himself sounded quite depressing right now. He put on his coat and decided to surprise his girlfriend; he’d been looking forward to spending the evening chatting with Valerie after being away on tour for over two months, but since she wasn’t available, his girlfriend would do. He stopped with his hand on the door handle when he realized the thought that had just crossed his mind. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Shouldn’t his girlfriend come first and his best friend immediately after? He shrugged. Jennifer had spent time with him during the tour; they’d met in Paris and she’d gone to London with him, too. It was only fair that Valerie would be his priority now. While he was in the car, he thought about stopping at the hospital before going home to bring Valerie a cup of White Mocha and a muffin; he was sure it’d cheer her up and, if she wasn’t busy, maybe they’d manage to chat for a while. He’d missed her so much and he’d found himself wishing more than once that she could tour with him. A weird sense of guilt hit him as soon as the thought formed. He had a girlfriend and he was supposed to wish she was the one following him on tour, not his best friend. But then again, what he felt for Valerie was totally innocent and different from what he felt for Jennifer; with Valerie he could be himself, the real Ryan from Dublin and he could talk about anything with her without ever being afraid of speaking his mind. When he was with Jennifer he was Ryan Wyler, the jazz star from Boston; it was all about his career and his name. He couldn’t deny that he and Jennifer had some great fun time together, but he’d started to doubt there was much more to their relationship outside the bed. It was lame but if he had to be honest with himself, he’d stuck with her because her job took her away as often as his did, so he had a lot of free time to spend with Valerie. Jennifer had never really liked the idea of his best friend being a woman, but she’d never forbid him from seeing her; he wasn’t sure another girlfriend would’ve been so open-minded. Besides, he didn’t really need a girlfriend he could talk to; he had Valerie for that, so it was fine with him if all Jennifer wanted was some fun between the sheets. He was still young and not ready to settle down anyway. He parked the car close to Jennifer’s apartment and ran in the rain toward the front door of the building. An elderly couple was walking out and held the door open for him, so he didn’t need to buzz. As he stood in front of her door, waiting for her to open up, he wondered whether he should’ve called first. He usually did, but this time he’d decided to surprise her. He ended up being the surprised one when she opened the door in a silk dressing gown, her face flushed and her hair disheveled. “Ryan? I thought you said you’d be out with your friend tonight?” she asked in a surprised tone. Okay, that wasn’t exactly the kind of welcome he’d expected. He shifted his weight to his right foot and tucked his hands in the pockets of his coat. “She had to work so I thought we could go out somewhere, have dinner together.” Had her face just turned pale or was he imagining things? She fidgeted with the belt of her dressing gown, one he was sure he’d never seen before, and he wondered if that was a subtle way of telling him she wanted to stay at home. Not that he would mind, especially since it was pouring outside. He took a step forward and put his hands on her waist. “Unless you have other plans that don’t include going out.” She stiffened at his touch and he wondered what was going on. She’d never been the one to shy away from his touch; it was actually she who always started it all. He moved in to kiss her neck and froze when he smelled cologne on her skin. Cologne? He pulled back and stared questioningly at her; she didn’t meet his eyes and he suddenly understood the reason why she was so flushed and disheveled. “Are you alone?” he asked straight out, knowing that beating around the bush would be useless. He’d suspected something in the past but this time he was damn sure she was hiding something. “Ryan, listen. I can… I can explain.” “You can explain why your skin smells like cologne? Go ahead, I’m all ears.” He took another step forward but she didn’t move aside to let him in, so he was standing only inches away from her. Somehow this annoyed him even further. “You said you wouldn’t be around tonight so I… um… I had a meeting. For work. The cologne… it must have lingered when we kissed goodbye. On the cheeks, of course.” Ryan arched an eyebrow. “Seriously, Jen; do you think I’m that stupid?” She swallowed hard and looked at her hands, still fidgeting with her belt. “Is he still here? Where is he? Your bedroom, maybe?” He pushed her aside and stepped into the apartment. She grabbed his arm to stop him but he pushed her away, taking big strides toward her bedroom. When he yanked the door open, he froze when he saw her manager, her fifty-year-old manager, flinch in her bed. What a cliché. Jennifer reached him and tugged on his arm, making him turn around to look at her. “Ryan, please. Let me explain.” “How long has this been going on?” he asked through gritted teeth. “Have you been sleeping with that man and with me?” “It’s not like that. It’s…” “Not like that? Try and find a good excuse now to explain why your manager is naked in your bed and you’re wearing nothing underneath that dressing gown.” He felt sick to his stomach at the thought of having shared her with that disgusting old pervert. This was the very last straw. He’d turned a blind eye before, he’d forgiven her and believed her stupid excuses but this was it. “Actually, don’t even bother. Go back to your buddy; we’re through.” He spun and walked back toward the front door; she stopped him again, her perfectly manicured nails digging into the skin of his arm. “I’m done with your lies. It’s over. You’re officially free to sleep with whomever you want; I don’t care.” He yanked his arm free and ran down the flight of stairs, knowing she wouldn’t follow him. God, he’d been so stupid he wanted to kick himself. How had he ever let it get this far. By the time he got back into his car his hair was soaked but he didn’t care. All he wanted to do was see Valerie. He knew she was the only one who’d manage to put his mind at ease. Kevin was in New York for a seminar and he didn’t want to talk about it over the phone. Valerie would help him make sense of this once and for all. He should’ve known all Jennifer had ever wanted was to be seen with America’s jazz star, just so her chances of being seen by a TV producer would improve and maybe she’d manage to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. That was what their relationship had always been about; he’d even come to suspect their chance meeting at that party in Las Vegas hadn’t been by chance at all. He wouldn’t be surprised to find out his manager was behind it; he’d always done his best to make sure Ryan was constantly on the front cover of magazines. The rain had started falling harder and it was now coming down in sheets; even with the windscreen wipers of his BMW at full speed he could barely make out the road. He stopped at a red traffic light and smacked his hand hard on the steering wheel, cursing himself for being such a fool. Why should it bother him so much, though? After all, he’d never really loved Jennifer; he found her attractive but that was all there was. He’d never considered spending the rest of his life with her, so he should be happy it was over now. It was knowing she’d cheated on him that stung, though. The light changed to green and he pressed down on the accelerator, feeling the need of seeing Valerie grow more intense. He was sure there was a Starbucks somewhere around here so he looked around trying to spot it. He needed a strong coffee now and he was sure Valerie would love a cup of White Mocha while he told her what an idiot he’d been. He squinted through the rain, cursing because he couldn’t see a thing. Where the hell was the damn coffee shop? He turned his eyes back to the road and saw the road work signs a second too late. He swerved swiftly and pushed hard on the brake, trying to avoid the hurdles and bring the car back on the track. The wheels lost grip on the wet asphalt and when the left one hit a pothole, he lost control and the car started spinning until it stopped, crashing against a wall. His last thought before the world went black was of Valerie.

~Synopsis~

Callie
What’s a girl to do when she meets a man who claims the heart that she’s already given to someone else? My boyfriend is everything I’ve ever wanted, he’s perfect, but when I met Joe … I can’t even describe the intensity of my attraction to him. I’d never experienced anything like it before. Since then, it’s become something so much deeper and I’m finding it impossible to ignore what I feel for him. I know I’m already with the man I should be with, yet I want Joe. I can’t seem to get my head and my heart to agree on this. I’m not about to cheat and I won’t just drop the man I love. But what do I do about Joe?

Joe
Tattoos, bikes and women – that’s been my life for the last two years and it suited me just fine. Until the day I swerved to avoid a raggedy old VW Bug heading my way, hit the sidewalk, and ended up sprawled on my back. I came around to a pounding headache and the most gorgeous girl I’ve ever seen. Don’t know if it was the effect she had on me, or the accident, but I somehow managed to let her go without exchanging information, more importantly numbers. Maybe it would’ve been better if things had stayed that way. Maybe then I wouldn’t be caught up in this dilemma. I should do what most guys would do and pursue her, regardless of her being in a relationship. Trust me, it’s tempting. The problem is, I’ve been on the receiving end of a situation similar to this, so I know the hurt I could cause and I don’t think I can do that. But I want Callie. I want her bad.

When Callie and Joe met, neither were prepared for the sequence of events that would follow, or the impact of the choices they would go on to make. If only is book one in the Captured series. Adult Contemporary Romance. This series is not intended for those below 18 years old due to graphic sexual content and use of language.

If Only excerpt

Callie

I twist my upper body around and watch him pull out some white latex gloves. Oh, shit. For some reason, it only just hits me.

He is going to see me topless.

Abruptly, I turn to the front and stare at Su, wide-eyed. Nick is the only man who has ever seen my tits. Ryan felt them, but he never saw them, so that doesn’t count. And he was my boyfriend at the time. Maybe the nerves of getting the piercings done stopped the recognition of this factor when I first learned thisguy was doing them, but right now, with it so close to happening, that realization has my gut twisting.

I point to my breasts and mouth the words I just thought to Su. She winks at me and sort of grins to ease me, but it’s impossible for me to smile back. I need to distract myself. “I don’t know your name. You told me your brother’s, but not yours,” I say, looking, but not looking at the display of photos along the white wall in front of me. I can’t recall what I was told when I booked, my brain won’t work right. The silence in here feels thick, and that’s not helping matters.

“My name is Joe,” he says as he sits down on a chair to the right of me.

Joe. Now I remember. I always wondered what his name was after our almost collision. Joe. I like it.

He wheels himself closer, stopping in front of me. The height of the table puts me above him, so I have to lower my gaze if I want to make eye contact with him. That’s the last thing I want to do. This really wouldn’t be so bad if he wasn’t hot. Why couldn’t I get the older guy who booked me in? Or Adam? He’s cute, too, but I could deal with him.

“Okay. So you want a tattoo as well,” he states, sitting upright with his lightly-fisted hands resting on his thighs, the gloves clutched within his right hand. I wish I could be as relaxed as he is.

I nod, looking level with his perfectly sculpted cheekbones. “Yeah.”

“Do you have in mind what you want, or would you like to see some designs?” I don’t know how, but he’s able to stare me straight in the eyes. Su was right about him being nervous before, but he’s definitely, absolutely not now. Maybe he was a little embarrassed about the almost collision thing.

With effort, I return his gaze as best as I can. Oh, God. My heart starts to gallop, threatening to burst out of my chest.

Those rich coffee beans have been imprinted on my memory since I first saw them. Sitting this near to reality is almost debilitating. There’s a deep tenderness in his stare that warms me, but the intensity of his focus pushes it up to a searing heat. It’s overwhelming, it makes me want to look away, but … I can’t. The brown is so rich with no intrusion of other tones and that only enhances the impact.

I thought my memory of his face was an exaggeration, the exceptional features and planes combining masculinity and beauty, but it’s true and very real. The tone of his skin is closer to olive than fair and appears incredibly smooth. I have an urge to slowly run the tips of my fingers along the lines and contours of his features, medium-thick eyebrows; narrow nose; high, defined cheekbones; softly-chiseled jaw, and then make a sculpture of his head, made to the exact likeness, but I wouldn’t go there, even with my skill, which, bias or not, I credit to be at a high standard. Thinking of this man as hot is easy to conclude, but it’s understated.

Joe is a powerful combination of man, beauty and sex.

 ~Synopsis~

Brooklyn
I knew from the start that I should stay away from Dane, and I would have – if he’d stayed away from me. Astoundingly sexy with a consuming presence of unspoken command, he enthralls me to the point of almost being incapable of rational thoughts, almost being incapable of resisting him. My hands want to explore him. My tongue wants to taste him. My body begs to experience him. I crave him. Now he’s starting to intrude on a level that’s harder to fight. I know what he wants from me. I also know that Dane is not the type of man you expect to keep.

Dane

Things are never straightforward with women like Brooklyn. She’s not the kind whose bed you can slip out of and walk away from without ‘special connections’ or ‘emotions’ expected or offered. She’s the type of woman I prefer to keep my distance from, but like an undersexed, hormonal idiot, I still pursued her. I swear getting turned on by her is like getting turned on for the first time in my life. Now I have her in my grasp, but I know where this will lead. And I’m never the one that gets hurt in situations like this.

A woman who has barely put her broken-self back together and a man who turned his back on love a long time ago. When Dane and Brooklyn first met it appeared to be a simple case of lust between two opposites, but it was the beginning of an intense, emotional journey that would bring forth the pain they both attempted to leave in their pasts, and an encapsulation of feelings neither welcomed but were powerless to stop. Sometimes in life there is no choice but to take a risk.

*Release takes place in the months leading up to the end of If Only (book one in the Captured series), and includes major spoilers from Joe and Callie’s story.

*This book contains graphic sexual content.

Release excerpt

Brooklyn

As I pass the rear of the Volvo, one space away from my car, a smooth voice stops me in my tracks.

“Brooklyn,” is all he said.

He wasn’t calling me. He was simply saying my name, low and curious. Stupidly sexy, too, but let’s not get caught up in that detail.

I know who that voice belongs to. I recognize it from last night.

Correcting my stunned expression, I turn around. Everything sort of … falls out of focus, becomes non-existent. When I stop, barely two feet away, I realize I’ve walked over to him. We’re standing at the boot of my car.

Dane’s hazel eyes are lethally enticing. I can’t do anything but look into the golden brown of his irises, touched with flashes of varying shades of green. I don’t know what to say to him, and he isn’t speaking, he’s just standing there looking at me. I’d like to shrink and disappear.

“I’ve been warned not to talk to you,” I say just to give me something to say. I instantly feel guilty for being such a blabber mouth.

“Kayla told you that.”

Smoothest, sexiest voice I’ve ever heard, and so, so sure. He doesn’t seem to mind what I said. I owe my friend a big apology.

“Apparently, I’m too nice for you. Too nice a girl, that is. Not too good looking for you. Not your usual type.” Now I’m talking shit. My cheeks feel warm, too. Please, don’t let me be blushing.

Dane’s expression is unreadable, but he answers. “That might be true.”

He pauses for one long, powerful moment.

There’s something commanding about him. This is definitely a man who gets exactly what he wants, when he wants, without having to make much effort for it.

“Maybe you are too nice for me, but I’d really like you to be the one who decides that for yourself. You’ve been given a heads up. That gives you an advantage, right?”

Oh, he’s good. What do I say to that? I don’t know. I’m taken aback by his honesty and tempted at the same time.

Tempted by a man I have been firmly warned to stay away from.

Find your brain, Brooklyn, and say “Thanks, but no thanks.”

I still can’t speak.

His lips start to turn up at the corners, but his gaze remains intense.

I still don’t know what to say. It’s been about thirty seconds. Forty, maybe. Suddenly, I burst into laughter and slap my hand over my mouth to shut myself up. Typically in awkward situations, or at times when it’s most inappropriate, I laugh. I hate it, but I can’t help it.

“I’m sorry,” I say, trying to pull back my outburst. “It’s not you, it’s me. I mean, I’m not laughing at you. I really don’t know what to say to you.”

He’s still smiling, no less focused about his stare. “It’s not every day a woman laughs in my face, but I like your laugh.”

I straighten up and curl my arms tighter around myself, still wrapped in my nice warm cardigan, which also feels like a protective barrier. Though I still want to giggle at my ridiculous self, I’m wondering if his complement is genuine or part of the charming process. My friends describe my laugh as loud and dirty, and I’ve never been complemented on it.

“Where do you live?” he asks.

“Where do I live?” I ask back, unable to stop my eyebrows reaching for my hairline. That’s a bit forward, did I hear him correctly?

“Yes.” He looks me straight in the eyes. This guy is unbelievable, he’s serious.

I swallow hard with my now tight throat. “Um, the corner of Sutter and …” Am I reallygiving up this information? “Franklyn.”

“That’s good. Do you know the Purple Cafe, on Bush Street?”

I nod. I haven’t been in there, but I’ve passed it a couple of times. Maybe I should’ve said no.

“Meet me there for breakfast tomorrow morning. I start work around nine, let’s be there for seven, outside. Think of it as your chance to decide for yourself.”

I’m speechless, again.

Dane turns around and walks away. “See you tomorrow, Brooklyn.”

Standing astonished, all I can do is watch his departure. In motion, he’s even more fascinating. He strides away with a feline grace, that air of command remaining.

I feel a weird temptation to follow him.

What the fuck just happened?

 About Louise

Louise J has always been a daydreamer, but never considered writing a novel until days before typing the first words to If Only. Joe and Callie (and Gerard) appeared in a dream and her mind has never been her own since then, and she’s never alone. When she’s not writing she spends a lot of time missing out on huge chunks of conversation, movies, and TV shows thanks to many wonderful, but highly invasive characters bouncing around in her head, showing her their stories. In the name of research, those fabulous characters have led her to parts of the world she never would have dreamed of, and, as a result, has gained some of the most amazing memories. The rest of the time Louise J is trying to be a good wife to the greatest husband she could ever have asked for.

Fun Facts

If I met Callie I’d want to be her, seriously! She’s everything I’d want to be if I wasn’t me. Her quirky style & hotness, her friendly nature, and her confidence are magnetic. She’s tiny in size, but huge in personality and presence. The girl on the cover, at that angle, is an incredible fit to my vision of Callie, and the model’s expression perfectly represents some of Callie’s emotions during If Only. All I had to do was have some minor alterations made, and there she was. That picture isn’t there just because it’s a pretty girl with pink hair; that is my Callie.
If I met Brooklyn I’d be floored by how stunning she is and mesmerized by her talent as a professional dancer, but we’d talk and I’d realize how thoroughly well I connect with her. So much so that writing her was the most natural, effortless thing. Publishing her, and putting her out there for judgment, was, and still is, beyond hard for me. Even after all these months since publishing Release, I question whether I held back at all with her so I could protect her. I don’t think I did hold back, I hope I didn’t, but that only makes me feel more protective of her. The image on the cover wasn’t picked without thought; the model’s physique, the amount of skin on show and the limited light and shadows represent Brooklyn’s sensuality, confidence and vulnerability.
If I met Joe I would literally require restraints to stop me from attempting all kinds of very sexual things on him. *Louise J fans herself* He is so damn beautiful and entirely masculine at the same time; it isn’t an exaggeration when Callie describes him as such. He has the body of a sex god, and I particularly love his taut midsection and hips. That sounds kind of random, but my interest seems to gravitate to that area. Add his incredible ink, and I’m on the floor in a gooey puddle of horny fangirl. He’s traditional in many aspects and has the loveliest heart. I’m crazy about Joe.
If I met Dane I’d be scared. He is hot beyond words, and that’s down to his manner and appearance. Standing too close to him would be impossible, I’d have the urge to run and hide. I wouldn’t be able to look into those amazing hazel eyes; they are so intense, I’d literally fall apart. With the body of a top athlete and the impact of all that ink, he is just astounding. I love him hard! He’s quite an old soul and a tower of strength, even when he’s struggling through his issues. I fell for him every time he spoke during Release.
It doesn’t get better for me than being in a scene where both Joe and Dane are present, regardless of whose POV it is. Just the mention of their names excites me. (I have a secret crush on Adam 😉 So, when he’s there, too, I’m even happier)
There are so many favorite lines and moments that I have in each book, most of them too spoiler-ish, but two (relatively safe lines) include:
‘My heart wants to run, but my legs can just about walk’ – Callie, If Only
‘Crying in front of someone who loves you doesn’t make you vulnerable’ – Dane,Release

Baker Beach in San Francisco features in Release. Brooklyn goes there with her friends, and there’s talk of the nude part near the rocks. When I wrote that scene I had no idea that I would visit Baker Beach and go further than simply seeing a naked guy. Not only did I see some random nude dude on a beach, on a cold day when I was dressed in jeans and a thick cardigan, but the random nude dude offered to take a picture of hubby and me with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. We posed while a naked man stood taking our picture. Yes, I looked where I shouldn’t have been looking, you would have too. Then, he offered us the chance to have our picture taken with him. So, I have a picture of me and some random nude dude on Baker Beach. I didn’t even get his name.
There’s a point in If Only when Callie drives to and from San Francisco and Arizona. I’ve done that drive – actually, my husband did the thirteen hour drive (with no sleep, so props to him), and I got to completely connect with the emotions Callie felt going to and from Arizona. It was amazing. We even passed a kombi, though it wasn’t groovy like Roberta. You’ll meet Roberta when you read If Only.
A rattlesnake makes an appearance at one point during If Only. I totally stole that from my own life, only, unlike Callie who had the guts to take a picture, I didn’t. I hid in the house while my husband took the shot. Isn’t that what husbands are for?
One song planted the initial tiny seed of an idea that led to If Only; I Never Knew by Roger Sanchez. That one book unintentionally became a four book series. From the series came two standalones.  From one of those standalones came the trigger of inspiration for my 2014 paranormal romance series. All this from one song. It’s never ending. What a crazy ride this is?!

My Review:

4.4 Star Review – Slave to Passion (The Estate Series #2) – M/F

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Sarah.  This book includes passion, laughs, and heartache.

Hunter DeLuca has wanted Madison Laurant for years but she was married so untouchable.  Once he finds out she is divorced he makes his move.  After falling into bed (Or the desk) with Hunter, Madison is feeling like a slut.  He ex-husband told her that she was a too sexual in the bedroom and acting like a slut.

Hunter wants her but he has to help her understand her sexually side and not be afraid of what she feels and wants.  He decides she need to spend the weekend with him so he can show her all the wonderful sexual things she has never gotten to do or see.

When they go to the Estate Madison is a little freaked out by what turns her on and what is done right out in the open in some of the areas.  Hunter picks her name out for her stay at the estate as Sassy.  She was at first pissed about the name and the safe word.  But she got over it after Hunter explained why there are safe words and nicknames (for the ladies).

Madison is still not sure if this is a great idea as she feels weird about the feelings she has after any sexual act.  Hunter helps her through that.  She learns new acts and how to please Hunter in ways she never thought she could.

They together learn that they are each other’s slaves to passion.

Excerpt:

Madison’s hips churned to meet every shallow thrust of his devious hand and the water lapped around them, the sound erotic in the darkened night.  Stifling a cry when a third finger sank into her, Madison bit her fist.   Her head fell backward to rest on his shoulder and she wondered just how much pleasure the physical body could endure.

Staring down into her smoky eyes, he watched pleasure claim her face.  “Gorgeous,” he muttered between deep kisses.  “I love watching you, cara.  You’re so fucking beautiful like this.  I love having your body all pink and rosy beneath my hands while it begs for my touch.  It’s every man’s dream to have a woman this responsive to his hands,” he whispered into her ear.

Her breasts rose and fell rapidly, her nipples appearing and disappearing below the bubbling water as his fingers moved in and out of her passage.  “Hunter, I can’t….”  Shaking her head as release built, she struggled to find words.

Slowing his hand, Hunt smiled wickedly.  “You can, Maddie, because I’m going to make you.”

“Please,” she whined brokenly.  “Oh, please, Hunter!”  She begged as his fingers twisted inside her, stroking a pleasure point so intense that goose bumps broke out along her exposed flesh.

“I can feel your pussy grabbing at my hand, babe.  It’s pulling and sucking my fingers into that sweet little vortex of yours.  I want it to be my cock,” he growled heatedly.  “I want to bury my dick in this sweet, soft haven.”

“Mmmmm,” Madison hummed, incredibly aroused by his coarse talk.  No one had ever spoken to her like that before.  It was primal and raw.  And she loved it.

“You just went liquid around my fingers, Madison,” Hunt rasped, fucking her deeper as her juices coated his fingers.  “You want it, too, don’t you?”

“Yes,” Madison whimpered as her thighs trembled.  Wriggling against him, she felt his manhood stir against the crack of her ass.

“Say it,” he demanded, his hot breath falling against her neck.  “Tell me.”  Biting back a groan as the curve of her ass rubbed his aching length, he clamped his jaw tight.  “I won’t fuck you until you do,” he managed tightly, keeping his fingers moving steadily inside her searing core.

“Hunter, I need you!” Madison nearly wept, struggling to get closer as she lifted her ass and tried to impale herself on his staff.  “Please,” she panted, turning her head to try and capture his lips for a kiss.

“What do you need?” Hunt asked fiercely, evading her lips and nipping her chin.

“You!  Your cock!  I want to feel you inside me,” she returned, her voice husky and desperate.

Pressing his lips to hers, he kissed her once, unleashing his own passion with a violent intensity before tearing his mouth away from hers.  Hearing her needy wail, he pulled his fingers from her pussy and gripped her hips, shifting her forward.   “On your knees, Madison.  Grip the edge of the hot tub,” he ordered roughly.

Catching her weight against the ledge, Madison gasped as Hunter lifted her hips and positioned himself at the gate to her femininity.  “Wh-what are you doing?” she balked, momentarily stunned by the change in position.

Sucking the side of her neck, Hunt palmed and squeezed her breasts as he rubbed his thick cock against her puffy, swollen folds.  “You’ve never been fucked from behind have you, sweet?”

4.4 Star Review – The Estate (The Estate Series #1) – M/M/F & M/F

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Sarah.  This book includes passion, laughs, and heartache.

Marc Samuels has wanted Grayson Chambers for a while.  He finally talked him into to going to the Estate.  Where he will surely finally get to enjoy all the pleasures of Grayson’s body.

The Estate is where the social elite go to slate their desires behind the closed gates.  You have to be invited in the door by an existing member.  You can be a whole different person in the Estate.

Maggie Stone (AKA Ice) is a judge who has asked for two partners two night.  When Marc and Grayson show up in her room she is surprised by Grayson being there.  He is a uptight man.  As the night goes on Grayson loosens up and is totally into the threesome.

As Marc wants Grayson and Ice both he is more than happy to share Grayson with Ice.

Bonus! Teaser from WIP – Stranded in Paradise

Caught in a sensual storm as the effects of Dave’s familiar kiss flooded through her body just as Ethan’s tongue tortured her tightened nipples, Tiffany made a desperate sound in the back of her throat.  These two powerful men were all hers for the night.  That single thought was enough to make her pussy convulse.  “I need to cum,” she whimpered between frantic kisses.  “Ethan, David, please,” she begged, desperately tangling her fingers in their hair and tugging.  “Please, boys!  Let me cum!”

Turning his heated gaze on Ethan, Dave smirked.  “What do you say, Sweet Thing?  Do we wanna give this lovely lady the cock she’s begging for?”

……”Dave…I’ve never…with a man…I’ve never…” Ethan faltered, mentally cursing his own ineptitude. For months, he’d wondered about this. His body screamed that this was the moment he had been waiting for, but now that it was here, he was suddenly unable to even string together a coherent sentence.

“E.G., it’s okay,” David assured him softly, loving the way the lights bounced off Ethan’s ebony locks. “I’m not exactly an expert myself, but I’m attracted to you…and not in a conveniently platonic kind of way. I wanna be straight up with you about that. I want you, E.G. In every way there is.”

 About Sydney

So who’s Sydney Jamesson?

Seldom does a writer appear out of the mist, fully formed and equipped to introduce the world to their ‘perfect’ prose. More often than not it has taken years and, in the case of Sydney Jamesson, decades to come to the point where she can say: “I’m ready. This is it, I’m done!”

Now is that time.

The fact Elizabeth Parker is an English teacher should come as no surprise: novelists write, initially, about what they know …

Yet, she confesses, Elizabeth is not her but rather that young, sensitive and naïve woman we all were or still are.

So that’s her, furiously typing away until the early hours, creating an epic tale that covers an 18 month period; taking three novels to unveil the intricacies of a 21stcentury fairy tale.

TouchStone for play is just the beginning …

[Cover Reveal & Giveaway] Bitter Fruits by Sarah Daltry

Title: Bitter Fruits (Eden’s Fall, #1)

Author: Sarah Daltry

Publisher: Escape Publishing

Synopsis:

Attending a vampire-themed masquerade party seems like a strange way to spend a night, but Nora is sick of frat parties and bars. Meeting Alec was just a bonus. Despite their immediate attraction, however, Alec is wary of involving himself with Nora, and when she pushes it, she discovers that Alec has secrets that could destroy them both. Is she willing to risk everything for a man she hardly knows? How far into darkness will he take her?

When Nora attempts to follow, however, things grow more complicated. Someone is hunting her – someone tied to a secret that goes back to the beginning of man. Soon, Nora finds herself drawn to two men, each with his own agenda. Can she save them both when one is destined to die?

Excerpt:
He sits in front of me and brings me to his chest. Our flesh is hot and sticky where it touches and I can’t stop the ache between my legs. His breathing is ragged and he tightens his grip on the back of my head as he tries to slow it. I am hurt or angry or frustrated, but I don’t know which. He runs his hands along my entire body and I push against him, needing him and not knowing how to accept his denial.

I want you, Nora. I have wanted you since I saw you. You are gorgeous. However, there are secrets that… Please understand, the steps that you want to take will reveal things. This cannot end well for either of us. I don’t want to make you suffer, but I am fated to suffer. Don’t make me bring you with me into the darkness. I can’t bear to lose you.’

I sense the pain that grips him. The darkness that he speaks of sounds frightening, but I don’t feel fear when I face him and meet his eyes. ‘I will follow you anywhere. Dark or light. Stop trying to make my choices for me.’

Our lips meet again, but it is with doubt. Neither of us knows what will happen if we are to move forward, but I want to have a chance to find out.

My body is still crying out for him but now my mind is calm. I want him, but I want him when he knows that I’m ready for whatever that means. His hands touch me and his caresses are soft. We both slow our breathing and I try to let my will match his. When he pulls away, he gathers the picnic and looks at me with longing and a hunger I do not recognize. It’s not sexual, but desperate. Almost as a dying man looks in the last moments of his life.

In three days,’ he says, ‘I will meet you again at the church where we first met. In the meantime, I want you to look something up and if you do not appear at the church, I’ll know that what you found changed everything.’

Okay,’ I say warily. I’ll do anything he asks, but his fear scares me. What kind of secrets can he possibly hold? Little right now could stop me from going to him in three days.

Find the name Charles Samuels. He was an Oxford student in the 1960s. And then we shall see how much of the darkness you are willing to face.’

I’ll look him up, but Alec, I’m going to be at the church in three days,’ I say.
