Radley goes away for the time Cameron is home but while away he gets called back to Afghanistan.  What will Olivia think with him gone and only a few text’s every once in a while stating I Love You.  Will she believe that they can be together or will she lose faith in him since he is gone?

The Army Doctor’s Baby

Alice Conway was holding a baby and ended up breaking her arm while running from the enemy.   The baby needs surgery to fix his lip.  If the mother had she not died in childbirth she would not have touched the baby anyway.  The village people believed that a child born with a deformity was cursed and so is the mother after that.  Alice would not leave him behind.

Major Cameron Knight just rescued a charity worker.  While she is healing he is working and looking in on the baby.  As the days go by and Alice heals Cameron feels drawn to her.  She finds him attractive but she is trying to fight it.  He is a medic who is serving his country.  She needs to learn to take care of her baby so she can get him home.

In order to get the surgery she has to adopt the baby “Sami”.  The government in that country only lets married people adopt children so she has to be married.  Cameron decides he will marry her so she can take Sami home and get his surgery.

Once home they spend time together Cameron feels torn as he is growing close to both Sami and Alice but what if Alice doesn’t want him or his help.  He is also feeling guilt and anger at himself for giving up his son to his brother even though it was for the best.  What will Alice think if she finds out he gave up his own son?

When the adoption process starts Cameron realizes that his job is making the process harder.  Should he quit his job so Alice can keep her son?  Will he regret making the choice he thinks he has to make?  Will he end up alone or with Alice and Sami?

The Army Doctor’s Christmas Baby

“Again, Macy, why are you being punished?”

Macy was sitting on the end of the bed like a good submissive when Logan entered the bedroom almost an hour later. Luckily he hadn’t finished sooner. She’d taken a quick shower before donning one of his dress shirts and even answered a text from her sister.

“Because I put two sugars in your coffee instead of three.”

“Did you do that deliberately, Miss Trent? You have made coffee for me almost every day since you’ve been in my employ. And you have put one cube of sugar in my coffee each time. Why forget today?”

He stood there, watching her, his eyes flashing with fire. She didn’t know if it was anger or desire. She hoped it was desire.

“Do you know why I think you forgot, Miss Trent?”

She shook her head, unable to speak.

“I think you want to be punished. You want to feel the heat of my hand on your backside. You want to see how much you can tolerate before using your safe word, don’t you, Macy?”

He stepped back and pulled the t-shirt over his head. Next he hooked his thumbs under the waistband of his pajamas and let them slide to the floor. He wore no socks or shoes. Or underwear.

He walked over to the sitting area and placed one of the high-backed chairs in front of the mirrored closets. Taking a seat he motioned her over. “Come, stand in front of me the way you did last night.”

Macy complied, stepping in front of the chair with her back to him. She could feel her blood thrumming through her body. Even though she couldn’t comprehend the satisfaction to be had from spanking—yet—she was excited. Aroused at the thought of having Logan’s hands on her again.

Would she ever get enough of this man?

He reached out, his hands going under the tail of her shirt to trace the shape of her ass. His hands were warm, his touch firm as he stroked her soft flesh, making her tremble.

“Do you like that, Macy?”

Her breathing hitched. His touch was like a narcotic. One simple stroke and she’d do anything to have more. “Yes.”

“Unbutton my shirt.”

As soon as she’d undone the last button, he was tugging her down across his lap, her torso resting on the large curved arm of the chair. The fingers of one hand threaded through her hair, pulling the errant strands away from her face. Suddenly, she could see them in the mirror. He was watching her. Gauging her reaction.

“I want you to watch me spank you, Miss Trent,” he murmured. This was it. The thought both frightened and aroused her.

Macy watched his face, the brooding, hungry look—like a starving man offered a feast, yet afraid it was going to be snatched away before he got a taste. Fascinated by his expression as he stared raptly at her plump cheeks, she missed the rise of his hand.

Today it’s my pleasure to welcome Jennifer Seasons to my blog

For all of my readers who may not be familiar with your work, could you tell us a bit about yourself
Of course! I write Contemporary Romance for Avon Impulse. My baseball series Diamonds and Dugouts is wrapping up next week with the release of the last book in the trilogy THROWING HEAT.
Please summarize this book for the readers here and advise if it is a series book or a stand alone one….
THROWING HEAT is about two people with a past making a hot, sexy bet that could change both of their lives forever. It’s the final installment in my Diamonds and Dugouts series, but although characters overlap it can be read as a stand-alone.
How much research do you have to do when writing a story?
Absolutely as much as I need to in order to feel comfortable and confident writing about the topic. Also, I’m insatiably curious. I love to dig until I uncover everything I can.
Do you have a favorite book of the ones you have written that you like the most?
Ha! I confess, I do. It’s actually this book, THROWING HEAT. Peter and Leslie are just such real, flawed, wonderfully big-hearted characters that their story is my personal favorite.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently putting together a proposal for my next series to show my editor. It’s fun and new and unexpected, so I’m really excited about it!
Do you have a street team or fan club your readers can join? If so how can they join?
I don’t actually. Not yet. But, you can always find me on Twitter, Facebook, or my website
Do you have a favorite Author(s) that you like to read?
Right now I’m really into Candis Terry’s small town romances. They just hit the spot. If you haven’t checked them out, you should. That woman knows how to write a hunky hero.
What are 5 things that you’d like our readers to know about you and your writing that they might not know?

My writing is:

  1. Fun
  2. Witty
  3. Super Steamy
  4. Full of flawed characters who sometimes make bad choices. . .
  5. Full of so much heart that you’ll love them in spite of their mistakes.

Thank you Jennifer for taking the time to answer the questions.

My Review:

4.6 Star Review – Chasing Morgan

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Jennifer.  This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, psychics and murders.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first.

Saved by the Rancher (The Hunted #1)
Lucky Like Us (The Hunted #2)
The Right Bride (The Hunted #3)

FBI Agent Tyler Reed has been working with a psychic for the last 5 years via phone calls.  Before that he really didn’t believe in anything that he could see.  When a woman came up to him and gave him information that lead him to be able to save his sister’s life he started to believe.

That was the last time he saw Morgan Standish in the flesh.  Morgan has been helping Tyler & his partner Sam since that day on their cases.  She is in Tyler’s head and can sometimes talk directly to him in his mind.  If he needs her he thinks about her and she will call him.  He vents all his problems to her and she listens.  All Morgan has asked of him in all the years is that it never get out that she is helping him.

When a detective who is mad about the FBI & Morgan solving his case tells the press Tyler and a psychic named Morgan were working together all hell breaks loose.  Tyler can feel Morgan scream and pull away from him.  He feels so empty without her presence that he has felt for the last 5 years.  Since Tyler has only ever received contact via the phone from Morgan he has no idea where she is and how to contact her.

Her father calls and tells Tyler her last name which they had not known before and asks where she is.  After they run checks on him they find out he has been in prison and holds Morgan responsible for him being there.  Even with her name they can’t find her.

When other psychic’s in the town are being murdered they try even harder to contact her.  With every new murder they know the killer wants Morgan as he thinks she can see all that he has done.  He wants to kill her last but he must kill all the others so they can’t see his past evil deeds.

Morgan has been living as Matt’s (Sam’s twin brother; Sam) neighbor for the past two years.  She has sworn him to secrecy about her location and not telling Tyler or Sam.      After losing her connection with Tyler she has no idea until Matt tells her that there is a killer killing the off the psychic’s.

She comes to town to help Sam and Tyler.  But will Tyler accept her help?  Can she save the next psychic from the killer?  While she is helping out the FBI will her father find her?  What exactly is in Morgan’s past that Tyler didn’t know because he never asked?

Tyler is sweet but misguided in his relationships.  He is all about setting down but at what cost?  Morgan is a sweet woman.  When she has a vision it drains her and leaves her exhausted.  As she helps out more and more what cost is it putting on her mentally and physically?

4.4 Star Review – Backfield In Motion

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Jami.  This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, and a missing person.

Bruce “Bruiser” Mackey is a pretty boy.  He plays football and models.  So everyone thinks he is all about making money.  What people don’t know is all his modeling money goes to a secret charity.

MacKenzie “Mac” Hernandez is working for the lumberjacks.  She is trying to get a scholarship to finish college and take over when her boss retires.  She is told that she needs to go to the company BBQ and bring a date.

The other Lumberjacks decide she will get a makeover and Bruiser would take her to the BBQ.  He tells her he will take her even though his best friend wants to date her (but he is out of town).  He is amazed by the makeover but feels that she looked better before.  They go to the BBQ together and end up almost kissing.  After overhearing a conversion at the BBQ she leaves alone.

As time goes by they spend more and more time together.  But she feels Bruiser is not really ready for a relationship as he still has not shared his past or any of his secrets.  Things come up that break them up but they keep coming back together.  But is it worth it to keep trying and not ending up together?

Bruiser has a horrible trauma in his past he does not share with anyone.  Whenever anyone gets too close he pushes them away so they never find out his secrets.  Will he ever share his past with Mac?  Does he even feel that he needs to?

Will Mac get the scholarship she worked so hard for or will something prevent her from getting that?  Will she spend the rest of her life on nights and weekends dropping everything to help her father search for her missing brother?  Will Bruiser be able to deal with her cancelling plans to help her father look for her missing brother?

In the end will all the twists and turns in the relationship help make it stronger or break it apart?

Seattle Lumberjacks Book 2

Quarterback Tyler Harris is about to find the woman who can get past his defensive line and reach his heart.

With two championships in as many years, superstar Tyler Harris is the best quarterback in the league. Gorgeous and rich, he’s at the top of his game. But everyone’s looking to take him down. There’s a building media frenzy around an unfortunate accident, and the only safe place seems a rundown mansion deep in the San Juans and owned by his late great uncle. There, Tyler gets sacked by the sassy redhead next door. It’s more alive than he’s felt in years.

Lavender Mead has a good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football. Maybe that explains her penchant for bad boys who play ball for a living and break hearts for a hobby. Her new neighbor seems just the type. Yet, something is different about Tyler, and sometimes love requires a Hail Mary. You draw back your arm, pray…and give it all up to fate. And sometimes you win your ring.

Seattle Lumberjacks Book 3

After twelve years in the league, all Zach Murphy wants is a Super Bowl ring. He’s been about hard hits not smooth manners, about breaking quarterbacks not making small talk at cocktail parties. Life is looking up for Kelsie Carrington-Richmond. A onetime beauty pageant star and mean girl, she only recently stopped living out of her car. But both those times have passed. Her Finishing School for Real Men has a real shot, and the Seattle Lumberjacks have hired her to polish up their roughest player. Except…it’s Zach. Long ago she broke his heart. He’s just the beast she remembers–gruff, protective–but she’s nothing like the beauty from his past. Yet, getting knocked down happens, and getting back up makes a contender. [Review & GIVEAWAY] Believing Again by Peggy Bird

Believing Again by Peggy Bird

Second Chances, # 5

As the youngest woman ever to make detective in the Portland Police Bureau, Danny Hartmann has racked up an impressive record. It doesn’t keep her warm at night, but it does make up for feeling she’s somehow disappointed her family with her career choice. Called to the scene of the murder of a homeless veteran in a transient camp, Danny doesn’t expect it to be anything other than another case she clears.
Then she meets the man who made the 9-1-1 call and everything changes.
Jake Abrams, a volunteer doctor at the Veterans Medical Services Clinic, doesn’t have much faith in anything other than his work and the vets he cares deeply about. Not shy about voicing his opinions, even to the cops investigating the murder of one of his patients, he annoys Danny with his snarky remarks.
However, working the case, she has to rely on Jake to help her find her way around the transient camps under the bridges and in the city’s huge wilderness park. As they work together, their attraction becomes mutual and passionate.
But Jake has demons. Like the vets he cares for, he carries scars both mental and physical from his service in the National Guard in Iraq. He fears Danny will turn from him in disgust when she discovers them. She’s afraid his experience in Iraq makes it impossible for him to love someone who does what she does for a living.

When the murderer of the homeless vets comes too close to Jake, it’ll be up to Danny to save his life. It’ll be up to their love for each other to save them both.

4.3 Star Review – Believing Again

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Peggy.  This book includes passion, heartache, and murders.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first.

Beginning Again (Second Chance #1)
Loving Again (Second Chance #2)

Together Again (Second Chance #3
Trusting Again (Second Chance #4)

Portland Police detective Danny Hartmann is on a new case where homeless veterans are being murdered.  Sam, her partner, and her are investigating and interviewing people at the crime scene.

Dr. Jake Abrams is the 9-1-1 caller and also the victim’s doctor.  Danny and Jake butt heads right from the start.  He likes her and finds out from her partner that she is single.
As Jake and Danny start dating and growing closer they realize they both have some issues to work out.  Jake has demons from his military deployment.  Danny has issues with the way Jake thinks he needs to protect her.  She is a cop and knows how to protect herself.
As more veteran’s fall victims to the killer they realize that the thing they all have in common is Jake being there doctor. So who could be behind the murders and why Jake’s patients and not the other doctors in the clinic?
When Jake tries to save Danny but lets the killer get away in the process Danny is about to beat him down.  She decides that he is just not for her.
Is there anyway Jake can win her back?  If he does will he end up doing exactly the same thing if the opportunity comes up?  Will they be able to chase down the killer?  Who is the killer?

Jake is a very sweet guy and just right for Danny.  Jake has some insecurity that Danny helps him to overcome.  Danny needs for Jake to realize that she can take care of herself and that she does not take unnecessary risks.  I found the book to be a good read.

I pursued a number of careers—nurse, legislative staffer, lobbyist, public affairs consultant, non-profit association executive, workshop teacher, oh, and mother and wife—before deciding to leave it all for what I’ve loved through every stage of life—writing. I’ve been published in anthologies, magazines, newspapers and in the brochures, newsletters and reports of my consulting clients and employers. Unless you count speeches for politicians, I’d never written fiction until a cast of characters began inhabiting my daydreams. A glass artist and a gallery owner were there. So were a sculptor and a jewelry designer. When some dead bodies showed up, a couple of cops and a deputy DA arrived. Soon they began to fall in love with each other and work for their happy ending. Bingo. I was a romance writer.

 Beginning Again (Second Chance #1)

Second Chance Book 1

When Liz Fairchild’s husband leaves her for a younger man, she decides it’s time to start over. So she sells her house, takes her generous community property settlement and opens an art gallery in the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. A little sweat equity, some interesting art to exhibit, assistance from a surprising source and she’s ready to open.

Enter Collins, an up and coming sculptor who also happens to be young, sexy and determined to bulldoze his way into Liz’s gallery, her life and her bedroom. He succeeds on all levels. His art is a hit in her gallery; his “to do” list for the bedroom eye-opening and his attention to her like nothing she’s ever known.

But something isn’t quite right. He disappears for hours at a time, returning from “business” looking unhappy and acting withdrawn. What’s he keeping from Liz? Is it another woman? Another gallery? A family?

And does she want to get closer to this man or run as fast as she can to keep herself from being hurt?.

 Loving Again (Second Chance #2)

Second Chances Book 2

One spring evening, at an art gallery opening, Portland police detective Sam Richardson meets Amanda St. Claire, a talented, young glass artist. He’s immediately attracted to her. Trouble is, they’re introduced by Amanda’s boyfriend, restaurant and club owner Tom Webster.

Then, Webster is murdered and Amanda’s accused of killing him. Amanda and Sam grow closer as they try to clear her name. Strange things begin to happen. Another glass artist publicly accuses her of stealing his ideas. She’s stalked while out running errands. The sensor on the back door to her basement keeps going off, as if someone is trying to get into her house. Her studio is repeatedly broken into.

Then, two more people are killed and the evidence points, again, to Amanda as the killer. And this time, Sam’s life is threatened, too. On her own Amanda comes up with a plan to protect him. A plan that means she will have to shut him out of her life. But she can’t let anything happen to him, not after everything he did for her.

Even if it means losing the only man she’s ever loved.

“Sensuality Level” Hot.

 Together Again (Second Chance #3)

Second Chances Book 3

Deputy DA Margo Keyes is looking forward to this trip with as much enthusiasm as she’d have for a root canal. There’s the Philly summer heat, the high school reunion she’d rather avoid, and the speech she’d be giving as a last-minute stand-in for her boss. Mostly there’s facing high school crush Tony Alessandro. When she’d last seen the Philly cop, he’d danced her out of his sister’s wedding reception to a dark room where he’d kissed her senseless. If his nephew hadn’t interrupted they’d have…well, who knows?

Tony had disappeared on some family errand. She went home to Portland, Oregon the next day. She hadn’t heard from him since.

However, her homecoming turns out better than expected. The reunion and the speech work out. Even better, when she and Tony pick up where they left off in that dark room, the only heat that’s unbearable is what they generate in bed.

Margo returns to Portland wondering if she and Tony have started something she might not be ready for, relieved she’s put a whole continent between them to give her breathing room to sort it. Then his work with a federal task force investigating industrial espionage brings him to Portland. And an accidental swap of messenger bags on her flight home puts her in the middle of the investigation.

Tony wants her out of the way of the bad guys and focused on him. She wants to use a secret from her past to wrap up the case. And maybe avoid having to think about what’s happening between them.

They can’t both win. Or can they?

 Trusting Again (Second Chance #4)

Second Chances Book 4

Imagine Cynthia Blaine’s surprise when she walks into the bar at the Heathman Hotel in Portland Oregon and sees the man she’s been trying to forget for weeks after he commissioned an expensive piece of her jewelry for “a friend’s birthday.” There was no point fantasizing about him. He was taken.

But over a cup of coffee, he convinces her to give this relationship a try. Marius woos her on a sailing trip through the San Juan Islands and their romance seems on solid grounds. But during his six-week business trip to Central America, Cynthia gets a shock. And when she goes to Portland to pour out her heart to her best friend, she has another shock—Marius, in Portland, not where he said he would be and with another woman.

It’ll take more than a good cup of coffee this time to get Cynthia and Marius to their happily-ever-after.

My Review:

4.5 Star Review – Lady Broke

I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Rachel.  This book includes passion, laughs, heartache, a kidnapping, a gun fight, and robbery.

Christie Wallace is staying with her uncle and helping him run his business after her Aunt died.  She is glad to be away from her father as he is trying to arrange a wedding for her to a man she has never met.

After the post office in town is robbed by the Everett gang (three brothers) one of them runs into her Uncles shop to hide.  She becomes a witness to the crime as she saw the robbers face while he was hiding out.

Nat Randall is a bounty hunter who is trying to bring in the Everett gang.  He has his own personal reasons for wanting the gang to hang for their crimes.

Nat catches one of the brothers, Hank and brings him to town for Christie to identify but it is not the one who hid out after the robbery.  Nat and his friend take the brother in the dark of night to lure the other brothers out of hiding to catch them all.

The two brothers Billy and Cecil kidnap Christie and follow Nat’s trail to try and get the other brother back.  As the ride through the woods on horses for days Christie tries to figure out a way to escape the brothers.  She has to be careful how she tries to escape as the brothers killed the last witness so they would not have an issue killing her.

When Everett gang catch up to Nat they want to trade Christie for Hank.  During the trade Hank runs into Bill’s line of fire and gets hit in the gut.  He later dies from his wounds.  Now the Everett’s want revenge against Nat as if he didn’t catch hank to begin with Hank would still be alive.  They also want Christie back as she is pretty.

Will Nat catch the last two Everett brothers?  If so will they hang this time?  Will Christie’s father still force her to marry a man she does not know?  Will Nat hold it against Christie that he had to save her and he lost another chance at getting the brothers?

The clang of bells sounded against the front door.

Christie’s belly gave a sickening lurch.

The robber ducked down behind the counter at her feet. In his haste, the red bandanna slipped down to his chin.

For a split second their gazes locked.

His green eyes narrowed in a murderous glare.

She hastily looked away.

The click of his gun cocking made her swallow hard.

He settled himself like a laying hen, on a half empty crate of canned peaches at her feet.

“Afternoon, ma’am.”

Christie swallowed hard.

The tall stranger striding toward her in the brown duster appeared far more dangerous than the robber under the counter. His blue eyes snapped as cold as spring water against his bronze skin. It was difficult to determine his features through the stubble on cheeks.

But there was purpose behind his steady advancing swagger, urging her to take a stepback.

The gun against her thigh held her still.

She managed a small frozen smile—a smile one might give when a rattler lay

curled inches from your feet. Her heart raced so fast, she could barely breathe.

The stranger cracked a lazy smile. His voice held a raspy edge. “I’m looking for a

no-account robber, by the name of Everett. You haven’t seen him, have you?”

“He’s gone.” Christie attempted to swallow past the fear in her throat. “Out the

back door.”

His cool gaze slid to the wide-eyed, silent McDermotts, then back to her.

Her mouth went dry.

He didn’t believe her.

He knew.

Somehow he knew.
